The hemispheres will be polished with 2500 grit SiC(silicon carbide sandpaper) to get a nice mirror like polish for the hemispheres. This will also allow the deuterium to stick to the chamber walls more effectively, better cleaning, and better evacuation of the chamber. Next the full nipples will be cut into two CF nipples such that 10 half conflat nipples will be mounted in total, 2 on axis and 8 on hemisphere. These designs are replications of Andrew Seltzman's designs http://www.rtftechnologies.org/ Go and check out his site, lots of cool research and development. Next the hemispheres will be drilled and the nipples will be attached see the MK. 6 CONSTRUCTION section of the website for details. Finally all parts will be TIG welded together and the hemispheres will be TIG welded to a pair of 8" CF mating rings to secure the hemispheres together.
